Genie??plz???

Its been a week since i came back to Sg Long and sad to say....life is ordinary as usual.....
Somehow ....
I wish i could get out of this place and fly off to JB......
I wish i dont have to start collecting information for my assignment on the 1st week of the semester.........
I wish i dont have to go around the house telling my housemates that i'm bored........
I wish to attend Risk Management class without the cocky juniors around........
I wish i can fast forward the time to week6 so i dun have to go through mid terms...presentations....and assignment due dates.....
I wish i could hug Smokey and Teddy whenever i want......
I wish my favourite show--毕打自己人 doesn't stop at episode 260......
I wish that my mom will call me 2nite and tell me that she'd strike TOTO and offers me a shopping spree.......
I wish that my wishes will not remain as just a wish.

bubye

Leaving Kt tomorrow morning :o(
Again, i'm having this feeling of reluctant to go back to sg long......
I've had a very long holiday compared to others.....so i should be thankful...
After all these years of studying in KL, i'm still not used to it....Everytime b4 i leave KT, when i'm leaving and after arriving sg long, i'll cry....and i duno the reason to it.
Sometimes i have the thoughts of giving up everything and just come back to KT and stay with my parents.....yeah...i noe its irrational...and so it remained as a thought that nobody knows. Anyway...i'm still glad that i had a wonderful holiday.....spent with my family ....who are always there for me .......*loves*

my pets.....who never failed to make me smile....

and my sistas.....my yamcha kaki....my beach buddies.....

and i'll definitely miss the breezy beach of my SANCTUARY

Kuching Day 2 (part 2)

The second destination for my last day in Kuching was the Semengoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre .

As we arrived the front gate of the centre....we were then separated into 3 mini vans, or even 4 coz our bus couldnt enter the centre.

waiting for the rest to arrive

We were lucky to arrive there just on time for the feeding session....

the food were placed on platforms like the one in the back...so the orang utans will come out to the platform to get their food...and this is the time to take pictures....

There was a time when one of the orang utan crossed the rope to get to the other side and all of us got panicked coz according to the tour guide....these orang utans do have some history of attacking tourists.....

this is Delima...if i'm not mistaken...

They actually had some boards displaying the name and age of all the orang utans staying there....they have funny names like Annuar, Baka, Sadam, Edwin, Selina etc.....
too bad we din get to see the oldest orang utan----Ritchie...who did not came out for food that day....so i googled a pic of Rithcie.....

stunning rite???

After everybody is satisfied taking pictures with the orang utans....its time to say goodbye again...

To get back to the check point where the vans were waiting, we had to hike up a steep road....but that never stop the super excited US to attempt for jump shots!!!

we had a lot of these jump shots.....but onli managed to upload these 2 nicest ones....reali hard to get nice ones coz the road was too narrow.....

and we couldnt stop posing even when we were walking

or in the van

So this is the end of my super short trip to Kuching. It was really fun though coz this trip was more about understanding the culture and the natural reserves.....very meaningful indeed.

The trip to the Kuching airport very 'kua zhang' too....coz only 3 of us were leaving but the whole bus was there and my relatives were inside...doing funny faces and kept waving .....and i saw one of the ang moh at the side watched us with amazement.....haha......
And b4 that..they were planning on the souvenir shopping sessions and my cousins kept turning around and look at me with the "AwwWW" face.......coz i din get to shop with them....*geram* aku....haha

But honestly, i felt so relieved after the trip....all the stress accumulated from the previous papers were nowhere to be seen. Felt really really good....thank u everybody!!! for making this trip a memorable one. And thank god my results were not affected by my spontaneous trip!!!

Kuching Day 2 (part1)

The second day of my trip was also my last day coz had to rush back to Sg Long for my last paper.

So the 1st destination for the second day was Sarawak cultural Village.

the cousins, with Mount Santubong at the back

group pic

All the pictures above were taken at the entrance while waiting for our 'passport' frm the staff there....

1st stop-- Rumah Orang Cina

nothing really special bout this house coz its just typical farmer house where we got to see many 'ancient' tools that were used in the older days to harvest crops or just basic daily equipments. In the same house, we were also shown some unprocessed birds nests as well as unprocessed peppers.

grandma reminiscing the old days....haha

2nd stop-- Rumah Melayu

nothing special bout this house as well coz all we see are those normal kampung stuff that we got to see in the peninsular too....^^ But i like this swing under the house....

3rd stop-- Rumah Melanau

Rumah melanau is taller than normal houses coz these ppl basically fish for a living, so a taller house is more appropriate for them to stay by the stream or sea or watever. ( according to the tour guide)
We got to play with the bamboo sticks while the staff there danced
On the top of the house .

Its not suitable for those who are afraid of heights coz it can be quite scary up there...especially when 95% of the stairs are simple ones made by tree trunks like this.

And with the height of this house, imagine how steep the stairs are!

4th stop-- Rumah Orang Ulu

Another tall house which we were able to see from far away

Before reaching Rumah Orang Ulu, we stopped by a small workshop by the side where an old man was doing his work quietly at one side.....

and only after that we realised that he was working on this:

oh ya....notice his ears??? he was one of the tribe i guess....those with long ears......that we normally see on National Geographic channel....hehe

At the compound of the house, we can see stalls for temporary tattoo...where we can have tattoo designs of their traditional patterns.

There's also this guy at the side making some guitar like musical instrument. My dad bought one...but it'll take them a month to finish it and have it delivered to our home....

and for RM10, we can put on their traditional costumes and head gears and take pictures.......quite affordable ....since we can take as many pic as we want....:o)

Cultural Show

We then stopped at the hall for the cultural show which runs twice a day. During the show we got to see various traditional dances which i think is quite interesting.

If u see carefully, u'll notice that the guy was holding the wood chunk with his TEETH...

yeah...just like this!!

and this is another one which was super nice...coz the guy climbed up the bamboo by himself...and then support himself on the top using his stomach

and the others down there were like spinning the bamboo stick and the guy up there was spinning too....like a helicopter.....and after that he's still able o make funny faces frm the top...

5th stop-- Ruman Penan

right after the show, we went to our next stop-- ruman penan.

Its just a small hut with some dried animal skin hanging around.....quite geli hehe....
We get to play around with the sumpit as well....RM2 for 3 darts...

This is the staff in rumah Penan. And upon seeing him, one of my cousin mentioned the name Temenggong Jugah anak Barieng................No idea who's that??? Perhaps this pic can help recall ur memory.....

the one on the left...

And yes....we studied about this Temenggong during primary school.......SEJARAH....^^ see the resemblance??

6th stop-- Rumah Iban

Iban ppl were famous for their headhunting activities long long time ago....so in their long house....we can see scary stuffs like :

this

this

this
and this,
lurking in corners around the house.....

we got to taste some local rice wine as well.....and these rice wine taste good...a lot better than i expected....:o)

7th stop-- Rumah Bidayuh

Honestly, i duno wat happened at this point coz i dun recall going into Rumah Bidayuh, but i had the BIDAYUH stamp on my 'passport'.......mayb we were running out of time by then so i missed out this Rumah Bidayuh.....

The only thing i remembered was crossing this 'bridge' next to Rumah Bidayuh.....

By the time we finished our cultural village tour....its already lunch time....so we had to rush for lunch and headed to our next destination.....
